Gunma Next Generation Video Creator Competition

The Gunma Next Generation Film Creator Competition is a competition for short films shot in or set in Gunma Prefecture, with the aim of producing film creators from Gunma Prefecture who will go on to become world-class filmmakers. We invited short film “projects” from Japan and abroad, and the 10 young creators who passed the screening were awarded 1 million yen in production support and were asked to actually produce a short film in Gunma Prefecture. To nurture/support the creators, the jury members and secretariat provided advice on scriptwriting, film production, and editing.

The jury was chaired by actor/director Eiji Okuda. At the preview of the completed films, Gunma Governor Kazuta Yamamoto and Eiji Okuda, the chairman of the jury, took the stage and the event was a great success.
