Supporting short film production by creators set to take off on the world stage!!

The Gunma Next-Generation Film Creator Competition is a short film competition for films shot in or set in Gunma Prefecture, aimed at producing film creators who will go on to make their mark on the world from Gunma. Short film “proposals” were solicited from Japan and overseas, and the ten young creators who passed the screening were each given 1 million yen in production support funds and actually produced short films in Gunma Prefecture. To develop and support the creators, the judges and the secretariat provided advice and production support on screenplays, film production and editing.
The head of the jury was actor and film director Eiji Okuda. At the preview screening of the completed works, Gunma Governor Ichita Yamamoto and jury head Eiji Okuda took the stage, and the event generated great excitement.
